A new region of Iceland is hoping to be a shining example of sustainability as it looks to adopt a Circular Economy. The Skútustaðahreppur council is planning to build a community home that can act as a central point for locals and visitors to meet, learn, and trade materials and equipment as needed. The center would function as a storehouse, depot, and tool shed and would be located near Lake Mývatn.

Rock is an example of a design that appears strange and outlandish while it is entirely purposeful, function drive, logical and organised. Everything that no one would see at the first glance.

A lot of times, in pursuit of new ideas, we forget what we already know. Those proven methods that are known to work and have served us well in the past. Sometimes what we need is a little tweak to these proven methods, to make them fresh and even better than what they already were.

Nowadays there is an ever increasing interest in organic forms with smooth curves and fluid geometry. However, all of such buildings are inherently difficult to design and build, because of their complexity. What if architecture could help us create these organic forms without actually having to construct them. What if we could make a build to be perceived more than what it really is.
